Over the last year, I've been sculpting a bit more, but I need both of them. It's really good for me to take a break from one material and work with another one. When I get stuck with something, a change of material helps me to get through the hard times. But I see myself as an artist that works both with sculptures and paintings. I had a period in my early twenties when I was really into character design, doing animation and stuff like that. Then I was doing graffiti for a while, so I think all these different forms of expression have typical aesthetics that are close to each other, and they are all part of my visual language.

Über Kunst & Künstler:in
Der schwedische Künstler (*1985 in Västerås) kam über Graffiti zur bildenden Kunst und studierte von 2009 bis 2014 Kunsthandwerk und Grafikdesign an der Konstfack Universität in Stockholm. Ojanens Gemälde, Keramik- und Bronzeskulpturen visualisieren emotional aufgeladene Momente menschlicher Existenz, dabei kreiert er ein zutiefst persönliches Universum, das eigene Gefühlswelten aufgreift. Er nahm an zahlreichen internationalen Gruppen- und Einzelausstellungen teil, darunter „We’ve Danced For A While Now And I’m Slowly Learning Your Steps“ in Tokio, „The Part You Throw Away“ in The Hole in New York oder „Kick Off“ bei Dio Horia in Athen. Ojanens Werke befinden sich in öffentlichen und privaten Sammlungen, darunter das Art Institute of Chicago in den USA, die Colección Solo in Madrid, das Västerås Art Museum in Schweden oder das Frans Masereel Centrum in Belgien. Seit 2013 erhielt er zahlreiche Stipendien, zuletzt 2019 das Carl Axel Valéns Kunststipendium.
